Sean Melquist grew up in Southwest New York, where most of his family still lives. At age 21, he moved to Raleigh, North Carolina to begin a life of his own and gain new experiences. At first, Sean spent his time working in restaurants. There, he developed a heart for customer service and helping others. Not long after, a good friend asked Sean what he wanted to do with his life and at the time, Sean’s answer was, “Become a lawyer.”
That friend turned out to inspire a long-lasting change in Sean’s life, however, when he suggested Sean look into real estate instead. “The population is growing and people always need homes,” his friend pointed out. This piqued Sean’s interest immensely, because he already had a desire to help people on a large scale, and his cousin in the Atlanta, Georgia area had a successful career as a Realtor, too.
In 2007, Sean moved to the Charlotte region and in 2008, met the owner of True Homes through his work. Three interviews later, in 2012, he landed his first job in realty with True Homes. Sean underwent his real estate training at Kaplan (formerly J.Y. Monk Real Estate School) and completes regular continuing education at Canopy Realtor Association to ensure that he remains a top expert in his field. Since then, Sean has worked with Keller Williams, Highgarden Real Estate, and Coldwell Banker Brokerage. He is currently a licensed NC/SC Realtor and Broker with Carolina Home Connections.
Ultimately, Sean is passionate about the real estate industry because of his heart for helping others. He thrives on diving into the tough parts of the transaction process behind the scenes, taking care of the intricacies most people don’t know about, while delivering a smooth and stress-free experience to his clients throughout. Guiding his clients in one of the biggest decisions of their lives – the purchase of their dream home – and seeing the joy on their faces in the end, is the force that drives him.
When he’s not working, Sean invests his time into local charity work. He’s a strong believer in being the hands and feet of Jesus every day, not just going to church once a week. Sean is involved in several community outreaches with his church, including homeless ministry, foster care, Beds for Kids, and Concord Housing. He cares deeply about making a difference in his community.
Passionate about people, Sean will take the time to understand YOU and your unique needs as a real estate client and use his years of expertise to close your transaction quickly and efficiently.
